2008 Tri-County Regional
Heritage Fair

The 2008 Tri-County Regional
Heritage Fair took place on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at NSCC Burridge Campus.
Tri-County students in grades 4 - 9 were on hand to showcase a variety of
projects celebrating various aspects of their heritage from all over the world.

"This Fair is a celebration of
our diverse heritage, spanning untold generations, from the First Nations
through to the present day. The troubles & triumphs of our ancestors - who
made their presence on these rocky shores of what we now call Digby, Yarmouth,
and Shelburne Counties - have shaped us into the people we are today. By
looking to the past, may we find a compass to steer us to a greater and more
prosperous future!", proclaimed Yarmouth Town Crier, David Olie, during the
opening ceremonies.

Aside from the competition of the Heritage Fair,
there was no shortage of activities for everyone to participate in. Dr.
Henry Bishop, Curator of the Black Cultural Centre, held African Drumming workshops
for students and adults alike; while Steve & Brenda Adams of the Tri-County
Regional School Board took students on a geo-caching adventure at the Chebogue
Town Point Cemetery.

The Tri-County Regional School
Board would like to thank the students, schools, judges, sponsors, special
guests, volunteers, and organizers involved in making the 2008 Tri-County
Regional Heritage Fair a success. Special thanks to the staff at NSCC
Burridge Campus for their continued support.
