Facility Addition Request
The Director of Operations presented a
report stemming from a letter dated June 29, 2006 from the DALA
requesting the Tri-County Regional School Board (TCRSB) to add an
addition onto the Digby Adult High School. The addition is to
accommodate a lab, office, and a meeting room.
The Board asked The Director of Operations
to gather further information and bring it forward at the next Board
Meeting. The Executive Director of the DALA & the Board's
Coordinator of Community Learning will also be asked to attend the next
meeting to field Board Members' questions.
September 19th Board Meeting
The next regular Board meeting that was
scheduled for September 19th, 2006 will be cancelled & the next regular
Board Meeting will be held on October 3rd, 2006. This is to
accommodate a request from the Department of Education to hold a public
information/input session on September 19th regarding school closures.
The Board feels that it would be in its best interest to be in
attendance at this information session.
Breakfast Program funding
The Superintendent shared a letter that was
received from Nova Scotia Health Promotion explaining that the TCRSB
would be receiving $43,500.00 in funding for its elementary school
breakfast programs. He also stated that the Yarmouth Exhibition
Association had made a donation to the Breakfast Program in the amount
of $800.00. These monies will go along way in ensuring that TCRSB
elementary students are able to start their day off with a nutritional
breakfast.
