SAC Workshops: Health
Promoting Schools
~Workshops are Open to all Members of the Public~
Health Promoting Schools:
An approach to school-based health promotion involving a broad spectrum of
programs, activities, and services that take place in schools and their
surrounding communities. The approach is designed to change the environment in
which students and staff live and learn.
Components include the
school curriculum, environment, and school and community supports. Families,
health professionals, educators, institutions, agencies, community
organizations, and students all play important roles.
