Stop on Red. Kids Ahead!

As a kick off for Bus Safety Week
(October 15 - 20), members of the RCMP were out in full force, in Yarmouth,
spreading the word about bus safety. With the aid of a bus parked on the
side of the Hardscratch Road, RCMP Officers were stopping passers by and handing
out
information pamphlets stressing motorists' responsibilities when it comes to
bus and student safety.

These road stops are part of a
multi pronged approach, by the Nova Scotia Safety Council, to educate students,
motorists, and the general public about the importance of bus safety.
Similar stops will be taking place in Shelburne and Digby Counties on October 17
and 18 respectively. Keep an ear out for public service announcements
throughout Bus Safety Week as well!

Tri-County students will have no
shortage of classroom and co-curricular activities available to them throughout
the entire month of October to educate them on the importance of bus safety.
Student favorite, BUSTER THE BUS, will be making his rounds throughout
Tri-County to allow students to experience bus safety hands on!
