Minister of Justice at YCMHS
The Minister of Justice, the
Honorable Cecil Clarke, accompanied by the Minister of Energy, the Honorable
Richard Hurlburt (Yarmouth MLA), was at Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High on
Wednesday, March 27, to speak with the grade 12 Law & Political Science classes.

The Minister of Justice spoke
about such topics as the the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the Civil Forfeitures
Act, as well as the history of democracy in Nova Scotia & Canada, and how the
law is integral to maintaining that democracy. Minister Clarke also
stressed the importance of citizen involvement in order for democracy & the law
to continue work.

"If you don't ever think you're
going to be a lawyer, don't think you might not be the Attorney General of the
Province of Nova Scotia; because you can be... if you just decide to get
involved," said Minister Clarke.
