Education Hero
The Tri-County
Regional School Board would like to extend its deepest congratulations to Joe
Bishara, on winning the 2007 Reader's Digest Education Hero of the Year Award.
Mr. Bishara
has been teaching at Maple Grove Education Centre (MGEC) for the past 30 years and is
most notably known as the leader of the school's renowned Memorial Club, which he founded
in 1985.
On January 25, 2008, MGEC held a
surprise assembly so the staff and students could show their appreciation for
their Education Hero. Tri-County Regional School Board Member, Anne E. Moses,
was on hand to present Mr. Bishara with a token of appreciation on behalf of the
School Board (pictured at top of page).
By encouraging
students to reach their full potential through academics & volunteerism, as well
as exemplifying the school's motto, "Proud Canadians do Proud Things", Mr.
Bishara truly is an EDUCATION HERO!
